Model of the Month...December
It was a pretty down month for fashion, seeing as everyone was on vacation and what not, so December's Model of the Month is a model that we have admired throughout the year (kind of like an "end of the year" model). Born in Brisbane, Australia in the spring 1989, Catherine McNeil had a slow start entering into the modeling agency. She spent her time working on small ad campaigns and magazine shoots, finally switching from her first agency, Chic, to Next in New York. She wasn't an overnight sensation, but the moment she was sent to meet with Mario Testino in 2006, she took the fashion world over by storm. Her first modeling credits include an exclusive six-month contract with Mario Testino (who she was named muse of), editorials in French and British Vogue, opening Alexander McQueen and Givenchy's runway shows, and closing the fall Pucci show. She's a constant in French Vogue (having appeared in it approx. 8 times, including a cover) and is frequently seen in American, Italian, British, and her native Australian Vogue, along with V Magazine, Numero and i-D. Recently (like within the last couple months, recently) Catherine has been on the cover of Australian Vogue, appeared in an American Vogue editorials, and become the face of the Louis Vuitton and Dolce & Gabbana resort ad campaigns. If your eyes weren't on her already, you'll definitely be watching her now, because this girl's got a lot more model left in her. That's why Catherine McNeil is the Model of the Month. Congrats!
